Fenerbahce will visit Eryaman Stadyumu on Sunday evening, aiming to maintain their perfect record at the start of the new Super Lig campaign with a win over Ankaragucu.
The league’s joint-top scorers Efkan Bekiroglu and Edin Dzeko come across each other in this match. They’ve netted three goals each so far in the campaign, Dzeko doing so in just two appearances.
The Bosnian forward should have a nice chance to deliver the goods once again on Sunday knowing Ankaragucu shipped five goals in their three opening matches.
The team led by Tolunay Kakfas offered their best display of the season just last weekend in a 1-1 stalemate away at Fatih Karagumruk, limiting the rivals to just two shots on target in the 90 minutes of play.
Nonetheless, such a fine performance will most likely count for little when Ankaragucu come face to face with a star-studded Ajax team led by the likes of Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic, Cengiz Under, Michy Batshuayi, Irfan Kahveci, Sebastian Szymanski, etc.
Fener are flying high at the start of the season. They have won all seven competitive games this summer including a 5-1 drubbing of Twente in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League playoffs.
